CANDLE CARE
Wood Wick Candle Care Instructions
Thank you for choosing our wood wick candle! To ensure the best performance and longevity of your candle, please follow these care instructions:
First Burn:
Allow the candle to burn until the wax pool reaches the edges of the container. This helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn in future uses.
Trim the Wick:
Before each burn, trim the wood wick to approximately 1/8 to 1/4 inch using scissors or a wick trimmer. This helps maintain a clean burn and minimizes soot.
Burn Time:
Limit each burn session to 3-4 hours to prevent overheating. Extinguish the candle if the flame becomes too high or if the wax pool exceeds 1/2 inch in depth.
Extinguishing:
Use a wick dipper or snuffer to extinguish the flame. This helps prevent the wick from smoking and ensures a cleaner burn in subsequent uses.
Keep it Clean:
Remove any debris, wick trimmings, or matches from the wax pool to keep the candle burning cleanly and efficiently.
Burn on a Heat-Resistant Surface:
Place the candle on a heat-resistant surface away from drafts, flammable materials, and out of reach of pets and children.
Container Care:
Allow the container to cool before handling. Do not touch or move the candle while the wax is still liquid. Use caution, as the container may become hot during prolonged burning.
Avoid Drafts:
Ensure that the candle is not placed in a drafty area to prevent uneven burning and excessive smoke.
Storage:
Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain its quality and fragrance.
Discontinue Use:
To ensure safety, discontinue use when only 1/2 inch of wax remains. Burning the candle beyond this point may cause the container to overheat.
Warning:
- It is important to never leave a burning candle unattended or lit while sleeping. If you need to leave the room or go to bed, ensure that you have extinguished all candles first.
- When burning multiple candles, remember to place each candle at least three inches apart from one another to avoid melting one another or creating drafts.
- In case the flame becomes too high or flickers repeatedly, extinguish the candle. Before re-lighting, let the candle cool, trim the wick, and check for unwanted drafts.
- During a power outage, it is advisable to use battery-powered lights like flashlights instead of burning candles.
- Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire. Keep burning candles away from furniture, drapes, bedding, carpets, books, paper, flammable decorations, etc.
- Also, keep candles out of the reach of children and pets, ensuring that you do not place lit candles where they can be knocked over by children, pets, or anyone else.
